Dave Bautista as Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy

Who he is: Drax, a.k.a. The Destroyer, a.k.a. Drax The Destroyer

His power: Drax possesses strength far beyond that of most beings, human or otherwise, though it’s not technically a superpower, as he is simply a powerful example of his people.

His story: Drax comes from a society of beings considered somewhat primitive, and not exactly the best at abstract cognition (metaphors, for example). After his wife and daughter were killed by Ronan The Accuser, he went on a rampage of vengeance searching for him, eventually being imprisoned by the Nova Corps, where we first encounter him in Guardians Of The Galaxy. After joining into an alliance with Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, Drax summons Ronan to them, only to be beaten by him. Eventually, he and the others team up with the Nova Corps and the Ravagers to kill Ronan, recover an infinity stone, and save Nova from destruction.

Drax continues to cheerfully smash his way across the universe in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, leaping into the mouths of giant monsters, handing out dating advice, and—with the help of his new friend, Mantis—helping his team defeat the villainous Ego The Living Planet, all while appearing to have the time of his violent, boisterous life.

Played by: Dave Bautista

Currently, Drax is: Smashing his way through the universe with the Guardians.

Where will we see him next? Showing up with his teammates in Avengers: Infinity War.
